What is the cost of the adventure?
The cost varies depending on the adventure selected. The Buruquena (Caving, Body Rafting and Trekking) is $120.00 dollars. The Guaraguao (Rappelling, Caving, Body Rafting and Trekking) is $150.00. All the adventures include transportation, trained guides, equipment and snacks.
How big/small of a group can I bring?
Adventures are designed for groups of 6 to 12 participants. If your group is smaller than 12 participants we may join your group with smaller groups.
How log is the adventure?
Adventures will generally last 6 to 8 hours.
Do I need to make a reservation?
You definitely need to make a reservation at least 48 hours before the adventure.
How do I make reservations for an adventure?
Reservations are made with credit card. To book your adventure you make reservations by phone (787-390-5369) or by email and wait for confirmation and further instructions.
How long in advance should I book my trip?
The sooner, the better. We recommend reserving 7 days in advance. However, reservations can be made as little as 48 hours before the adventure. Mid December through February are particularly busy, so for these season is highly recommended at least a month or two in advanced.
How can I pay for an adventure?
PayPal or Cash.
What is your cancellation policy?
Client will have until 48 hours before the adventure to cancel the reservation for full refund. If cancellation occurs after that period the total cost of the adventure will be charged to the credit card. To be fair for the rest of the participants of the adventure our team will wait 10 minutes after the schedule departure time designated for the adventure. After those 10 minutes your reservation will be considered cancelled and your credit card will be charged for the adventure. Be on time.

We have designated two main pickups locations for our adventures.

At what time do I need to be in the pickup location?
The pick-ups are between 5:45 am to 6:45 am. Depending on the pickup location.
When I will return to the hotel?
You will be back to your hotel at approximately 5:00 to 6:00 pm. depending on the group, the adventure you choose and traffic conditions.
Which pick-up is better for me?
The best pickup location for you is the closets to your home or your hotel. The two principal pickup locations are Plaza Colón in Old San Juan and the Premium Outlets in Barceloneta. See pickup locations links for exact address.
How long does it take to get from San Juan to the adventure location?
Depending on the adventure, from 45 to 90 minutes.
Why do we start so early?
Puerto Rico is a tropical island and the ideal time to be in the river and cave systems are early in the morning because of the usual occurrence of afternoon showers.
Will we have breakfast on the way to the adventure location?
No, so eat well before you arrive at the pickup location. We will provide snacks (trail mix, fruits, sandwiches) for the adventure. Once we finish we will stop at a local restaurant (not included in the cost of the adventure).
What will happen on the day of our Adventure?
At the pick up location you will receive instructions for the adventure and sign all the documentation requested before boarding the bus.
Once at the adventure location you will be suited up with the necessary equipment (helmet, harness, etc.).
Guides will give the group instructions on safe trekking, canyoneering and caving.

Adventure requirements?
The adventures require good health since they can be up to 6 hours long. Those with conditions such as heart and lung problems, pregnancy, impaired mobility or excessive weight should not attempt the adventure. You’re required to notify us if you or anyone in your group may require special attention or awareness on the part of your guide. Participants must be at least 16 years old. There are no maximum age limits, however, keep in mind that the trip includes strenuous hike and long hours in the river. Guides will limit participation to persons they believe to be suitable and fit. See Reservation Terms and Conditions.
Do I need to be very fit for this tour?
Is required for all participants to have a good to excellent physical condition. Participants will traverse on uneven and rocky terrain, walking on steep hills, standing near high cliffs and swimming in turbulent waters. If you can’t swim you cannot participate.
If I have never done rappelling, caving or canyoneering, can I participate of the adventure?
The adventures are designed to be fun and safe for individuals in good health and shape. It require no special skills or abilities. Many of our guests are first timers who have thoroughly enjoyed their experience with us. Safety is our primary concern, and we spare no effort to provide the highest quality, most enjoyable experience possible. We do not recommend these activities to people with heart conditions, claustrophobia or a fear of heights. A fully stocked first aid kit is available at all times during your trip. Our bilingual guides are some of the best in the field, highly experienced and certified in first aid, CPR and swift-water and cave rescue techniques. Many of our guides have additional certifications such as wilderness first aid and wilderness first responder.
Do I need to know how to swim?
Definitely need to know how to swim.
What’s the minimum and maximum age for participating on the adventures?
The minimum age is 16 years old and there is no maximum age. However, our guides will make all final decisions regarding whether they feel an individual is capable of participating in our adventures.
When is the best time of the year for an adventure?
We have designed adventures for all year around. But the best time for river adventures are during the dry season from December to April and June through August. *Due to climate change the seasons are not as easily predictable as they used to be.
What is weather like in the Puerto Rican rainforest?
In the Puerto Rican tropical rainforest it is best to be prepared for all kinds of weather. In general, expect most mornings to be sunny and clear followed by rain showers in the afternoon. During the day the weather will be hot and humid with temperatures in the mid to upper 90’s Fahrenheit (33 – 35 C).
What is included in the adventure?
The adventure includes transportation, guides, snacks, and technical equipment.
What should I pack for the adventure?
Small back pack, water (1Liter), camera, tennis shoes or boot with good grip for slippery surfaces, breathable or quick dry comfortable hiking clothes, towel and a dry change of clothes.
Are mosquitoes and bugs a problem?
We have had very few complaints about bugs in our adventures. It will depend on the season. We provide insect repellant if needed.
Can I bring my camera?
Yes you can, but you need to bring the necessary equipment to protect it form the elements (dry packs, camera housing, etc.). We will not be responsible for any loss or damage of your electronic equipment.
What are the adventure rules?
No disorderly conduct, drug or alcohol use, or any other behavior that threatens the safety of the group. Always follow the guide instructions. Guides will limit participation to persons they believe to be threat to the group safety.
What happens if someone has an accident in the canyon or the cave?
A fully stocked first aid kit is available at all times during the adventure. Our bilingual guides are some of the best in the field, highly experienced and certified in first aid, CPR and swift-water and cave rescue techniques. We have developed a rescue protocol for adverse situations.
How safe are our expeditions?
We provide professional equipment and trained expedition guides. The trips are of moderate to high difficulty, yet easy enough to not require prior experience. However, these trips are high-adventure activities in a natural environment with inherent dangers including, but not limited to slippery surfaces and dislodged rocks. All participants are required to sign a release and waiver of liability, assumption of risk and indemnity agreement.
Can I bring food and drinks?
You have to bring at least 1 liter of water. We will provided snaks and juice during the adventure but if you wish to bring your own food keep in mind that you need to keep you trash with you at all times.
